I haven't heard from Doug in quite some time and searched for an obituary, and unfortunately discovered my old friend has passed. We went through Parris Island in the same series but with a different platoon. We were together at Camp Lejeune and Caribbean Cruise 1-66, training in Viegus, PR. We then went to 29 Palms,Ca, for Seventeen months before we went to Vietnam . Doug was in some accident, as I recall, and we went to different units; we remained closer than brothers throughout these years. I reference
Corinthians 5,8."We are confident and well pleased that to be absent from the body is to be present with the lord."
