My condolences and prayers for the family. I've known Douglas and his family since I was a young girl. I used to consider him and Gail my cousins. Sweet family who my mom and I adored. Praying God's blessings of strength, peace and comfort be your portion in Jesus' Name.

I knew Douglas from Indiana University Northwest, where we were both students and active in the Black Caucus. I am also a graduate of Froebel, class of 1967. It is clear from the posted messages that many people feel as do I, that Douglas was a very kind and generous soul. I send condolences to his family.

Sometimes, merely words aren't sufficient to convey the loss of someone who was so loved, valued, and respected by so many people.

Doug was that person. He was such a nice and kind gentleman who love life, his family, and God's people. I have known him for over thirty years as we were professional colleagues who both worked for the Methodist Hospitals. There I met and got to know this notable man. Those who knew Doug, I am sure felt the same way about him.

I extend my deepest condolences to his family, and friends as you celebrate his life and treasure his legacy. May God comfort yours hearts, grant you strength, and peace during this difficult time.

I pray that our God through Jesus the Christ, grant him eternal rest and life. Rest in peace, Doug. You will truly be missed.

On behalf of my family we offer our Sympathy to Towanda and family. I have been friends with Douglas since we met in 1964. We were Classmates friends andc church members more like family. I will always cherish our friendship it was not a time when he didn't check to see how me and my husband was doing. His passing really shocked me but knowing Doug he was ready. We could talk about anything and when my mom passed was there at funeral even though it was his wedding day. I pray for peace and love for his family. Douglas would ask me when a classmate passed to put a condolence in from our class this one broke my heart. My friend I will truly miss you take your well deserved rest as you would say my crazy friend always at the end of our conversation. FLAME AND BLUE FOREVER

On behalf of the Froebel Class of 1968 we offer our deepest sympathy to Towanda and family. Douglas was a vital point in helping to establish our Class reunions. Our chain has been broken by death not the love we have for our Classmates. Our flame of red and blue runs deep in our hearts and he will be missed Doug will never be forgotten. Douglas will now receive what he strived daily for Eternal rest. We will all miss him never saying GOOD bye only GOOD night.
