North Port - Douglas Kastner, 82, of Englewood Fl, passed away on January 19, 2025, with his beloved wife, Mary, by his side.

Born in Richmond Hill, Queens, Doug lost his father at the early age of 9. He credited the Boy Scouts for shaping his life as an outdoorsman. He is a veteran of the U.S. Navy, and later became a dedicated police officer with the Nassau County Police Dept. Doug and Mary moved from Point Lookout, NY, to Englewood Fl. in 1998, where Doug enjoyed year round fishing. He was an avid fisherman, hunter, and horticulturist.

Doug is survived by his loving wife Mary Kastner, his sister Elaine Kastner, both from Englewood Fl, and his son Craig.

His stories, his strength, and passion for life will be missed.
