Dpm Del Zotto Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Oct. 31 to Nov. 1, 2021.
Thomas Del Zotto, DPM
March 6, 1957 - February 17, 2021
Sacramento, California - Surrounded by his loving family, Tom was tenderly welcomed into the arms of his Lord Jesus Christ after suffering a cardiac incident.
Born and raised in Eugene Oregon- Go Ducks- Tom's heart and soul clearly belonged to all things in the great Northwest. At an early age it was obvious he was a competitor. With a grin on his face he excelled at baseball, basketball and skiing and later, he could often be seen on his bike near the river paths close to his Gold River home.
Although he was the son of noted jazz guitarist Angelo, and Annie a beloved piano teacher, he readily admitted to having only the musical talent of selecting the right radio channel to blast his Motown tunes, or anything jazz related. His two brothers got the deep end of the musical talent for that generation.
After college he worked for several years as a respiratory therapist at a Portland hospital where he watched Mt. St. Helens erupt. The air was so thick with ash, he helped nurses tie their pantyhose to the engines to keep them from being clogged. He headed south to California for Podiatry school in San Francisco just in time to become stranded when the earthquake struck.
He was a beloved podiatrist for many years, practicing in his Folsom, Carmichael and Cameron Park offices. Dr. Del Zotto had a true gift for healing others and a deep care for the sick and injured.
We really miss him.
He earned numerous recognitions and accolades during his career- Physician of the year from the White Rock Medical Clinic and performance awards from hospitals and insurance companies. He was a frequent guest lecturer in the Masters program for physical therapy at Sacramento State University. He was a member of the American Podiatric Medical Association, the California Podiatric Medical Association and until his retirement, held licenses in both California and Oregon. He was on Staff at Mercy Folsom Hospital. He was board certified as a Fellow in the American College of Foot and Ankle orthopedics and medicine and a Diplomat in the American Board of Disability Analysts.
He was also an accomplished and published poet.
He leaves behind his brothers Dave of Seattle, Pete of Portland, and lifelong best friends Joe Johnston of Wilsonville, Oregon (God daughter Aly) and Dr. Bruce Beauchamp of North Bend, Oregon and his wife Suzanne.
Further he is survived by beautiful son Aaron of Portland, two tiny precious grandchildren and beloved and cherished daughter Annie. If you knew Tom at all, you knew of the wild and wonderful adventures of Annie.

Donations may be made to the LaVerne Krause Art Gallery for students (4884) at the University of Oregon 5232 University St, Eugene Or. 97405.
Special thanks to the Folsom Medical Community for their spectacular care and expressions of love and support.

I was shocked and so sad to hear the passing of the best doctor I have had. He was so caring and had a great sense of humor. He loved to talk and we would always discuss things while he was treating my ankle. I will miss him. God Bless Dr. Del Zotto, you were one of a kind.

Surprisingly, I woke this morning with some foot pain and my thoughts went to Dr. Del Zotto, recalling how much I enjoyed him and his humor. Then, like magic, I received this message remembering him! It was very nice to be reminded of him twice in one morning!

I just found out about Dr. Del Zotto. I was a patient of his and really enjoyed my conversations with him. He thought it was funny that I was an attorney named Suzanne just like his wife. He was truly a wonderful man and is missed.

Dr. Tom used to come to our dessert shop every Saturday and get a large sugar free root beer float. He'd stay for at least 2 hours telling my husband, my son and me wonderful stories from when he was a little guy and everything in between to his precious Annie. How he adored his girl. He bragged of her as well as his brothers. The pride he felt for his brother's accomplishments was above and beyond.
Tom will be greatly missed by me and my family. God Speed Tom.
