Dr. Helen Macey Obituary
Born September 8th 1974, Helen emigrated with her family from London, England to Arizona in July 1978. Quickly adjusting to her new surroundings she made many friends throughout her school years obtaining her diploma from Mesa High School in 1992. She attended Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff graduating with several degrees in 1997. While in college she was an active member of AOTT sorority along with volunteering for several organizations including Hospice and Flagstaff Medical Center.
Helen was accepted into the University of Arizona College of Medicine -Tucson in 1999. Continuing her studies in Tucson she chose to specialize in Psychiatry and later as a faculty member helped lead others in the Department of Psychiatry residency training program.
Helen is survived by her mother Pamela Mason, father Roger Macey, sister Nicola Macey, stepsisters Camille Gittens and Lauren Young, stepmother Kristin Macey, stepfather Larry Mason and boyfriend Jeremy Bohnsack. She leaves behind numerous friends, colleagues and patients and is deeply missed by all.
A Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday, May 2nd at 10:30 am at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, 2310 North 56th Street, Phoenix, Arizona 85008.

In lieu of flowers please consider making a donation in her name to The University of Arizona Foundation, Gift Planning Department, 1111 North Cherry Avenue, Tucson, Arizona 85721-0109. All donations will go towards student scholarships at the Department of Psychiatry, University of Arizona Medical Center, Tucson.

To The Macey Family ... I came to the service today and was not surprised to see the Chapel overflowing. Helen has radiance and inner beauty that attracts humanity into her life. She has a powerful soul and presence that will never leave us all. I loved taking care of her ... We all loved her so much. On the day when Dr. Helen entered this vast World she was given a Date and this was her Date of Birth . When she was called to Heaven she was given another Date and between these two Dates is a Dash that is very important because that Dash stands for Everything she experienced and All Lives that she touched . I'm glad to say I was in Dr. Helen's Dash . As the Employee Health Nurse at AZ State Hosp I place charts in our Archives.
