I was about to send my yearly Christmas greetings to Henry when I discovered he has transitioned. I was a resident doctor when I first met Henry and his words, advise and kindness will always stay with me. I was once scolded by him as well, it was deserved. He was so proud of his family by the updates he gave when he responded to my letter. Que Viva Dr. GO forever.

Our family has so many great memories of Dr. Go through the years, too many to count, so I´ll just name a couple, which stand out for me.
When I was in the 6th grade, my father, Roy Chaix, had a heart attack on Christmas Day. At first, we all thought that he was just suffering from indigestion after Christmas dinner, but it was so unlike him to lay on the couch all afternoon, suffering and in pain, that my mom called the doctor(s).
The reason I say "doctors" is because both Dr. Primasing and Dr. Go left their families on Christmas that day and came to our house and thank God they did and made the diagnosis that he was suffering from a heart attack, not indigestion, and was rushed to the hospital.
Years later, during a routine exam, Dr. Go noticed a "swishing" sound in my dad´s chest while using a stethoscope.
Dr. Go said that it was most like an aortic aneurism and immediately referred my dad to a thoracic surgeon, who monitored the aneurysm every 6 months until it reached a dangerous size, at which time the surgeon (who, coincidentally had studied under Dr. Go), performed what ended up being a10 hour surgery and guess who came out of the operating room to let our family know that the surgery had gone well and that our dad had survived?
Yes, Dr. Go, who unbeknownst to us, had been there for the entire surgery!
He informed us that the surgery had lasted so long because the surgeon had discovered several hernias during the surgery, so repaired those as well.
Dr. Go said, "Well, it looks like Roy got a ` 2 for 1´ today."
That´s the kind if doctor and human being that Dr. Go was, kind, dedicated, caring and with a great sense of humor to boot!
The Delta will never be the same without him.
RIP, Dr. Go.
We all miss you!
Jan Chaix

I arrived at his office over 50 years ago in Courtland. My parents, my bicycle and me with my finger stuck in the handle bar. Yep, we couldn't get it out so mom put me in the car, bike and all. I thought he was going to cut off my finger, but I still have all 10 thanks to Dr. Go. Those were the days! When a Dr could be a Dr and he treated the entire family. Delivered babies too! This were good times and he was the kindest, gentlest Dr ever.

Dr Go was my doctor all of my life. He took my tonsils out when I was 5 years old. I always knew that I would receive excellent care from him, Shirley or Dr Primasing. They were amazing practitioners. Their wonderful office staff (now and through the years) is what made the practice an exceptional place. I know it will be difficult to find another Doctor that comes close to what I had in Courtland. Thank you Dr Go for a lifetime of medical care.

Dr Go was a hero on the Delta
When my 92 year old dear mother came to live with us she had altzheimers. Dr Go came to see her regularly. He would come up our long back staircase with a basket on his arm which held his necessary items.
He always cheered her and she felt his kindness. He was at the WG church for her service two years later. He was an inspiration and a blessing to all. We thank the Lord for his heart of service.
He also took care of Uncle Ozzie that lived with us for 27 years and died at 87.

As a child my grandparents, Ray & Carol Wilkins lived in Courtland and Dr Go was not only their Dr but their friend. I have so many memories that it´s hard to share just one but I do know he spoiled myself and two brothers with lollipops and toys on visits. He was a very kind man, devoted to his family and community. God speed dear Dr, my prayers are with you all.

As a young girl my grandparents Ray and Carol Wilkins lived in Courtland. My grandma worked at Dr Go & Dr Primasings office. My mom had been a patient and of course us kids were patients of Dr Go. He set the bar always being kind and having lollipops or toys for us, and up until I had my own son in 1986 I saw him in office. He wasn´t able to deliver my son due to the back injury but I tried anyway! I´m sorry for the family and my prayers are with you. He has gone home to reunite with loved ones and although we are left grieving he is at peace. Thank you Dr Go for all you brought us here on earth.

Dr Go was the Delta. Everyone new him and he always had a smile on his face. He spoke softly to help comfort a 13 year old when stitches were needed after a bike versus bottle incident. All my memories as a child going to the doctor included him. He can play in the clouds with Sami. Will miss your kind heart Henry! Gayle Manica

As a new member of the Delta, my experience with Dr. Go was limited - yet lasting. Our deepest condolences to family, including his staff, friends and the entire Delta Community that was fortunate to have his brilliant commitment to medicine and healthcare, professionalism, and most of all - he was an amazing man.
His legacy will be a part of the Delta forever. He touched so many people lives. He took care of so many of us, Dr. Go has left behind a huge, irreplaceable hole in our Delta community. The perfect photo was selected showing his big smile and loving eyes.

I met Henry Go in 1979, at Methodist Hospital. I was a new night nurse. He walked down the hall carrying a light blue samsonite bag, stopped at the nurse's station, took a bite of my ice cream and went to his patient's room. I was dumbfounded and said "Who was that guy?" The other nurse, on duty, said "That was Henry Go...you will love him. And I did. He was unique and kind and a fabulous human being. Go in peace Henry. You made my life better.

Fond Memories of Henry in His Very Early Years
Henry was a wonderful and caring big brother to his half siblings Eileen, Hiram, Pauline, and William. While a student at U.C. Berkeley, he often went to San Francisco to visit us and our dear mother who made special soup for him. He took photos of us and brought gifts. As young siblings, we always looked up to Henry and sent letters and pictures to him in Courtland. One of our proudest moments as children was when Henry was awarded the Bank of America gold cup for his high achievements in Science and Mathematics. We will surely miss his presence at our many family gatherings as well as our visits with him and his family in Courtland every year until the pandemic. May God bless him.
