Mr. Durbin B. College, 85, of Waynesboro, PA, passed away Friday, January 13, 2023 at Menno Haven Nursing Home, Chambersburg, PA.

Born December 14, 1937 in Waynesboro, PA, he was the son of the late Boyd W. College and Janet L. (Myers) College. He was the last surviving member of his family.

Durbin graduated from Greencastle, PA High School in 1955. He retired in 2000 as an engineer from Landis-Gardner, Waynesboro, PA, after 37 years of employment.

He was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Hagerstown, MD, where, along with his wife, Betty obtained and maintained the bread for the food bank. He was a 50-year member and past worshipful master of Friendship Lodge 84 AF& AM, Hagerstown, MD, and past member of Ithiel Chapter 27 R.A.M; Palestine Council 16 R. & S.M; St. Bernard Commandery 9 Knights Templar; Tall Cedars of Lebanon, Hagerstown Forest 95; Queen Esther Chapter 3 Order of Eastern Star; Social member of the Harry D. Ziegler Post #6319 V.F.W., of Greencastle, PA, and a volunteer usher for the Maryland Theatre, Hagerstown, MD.

He enjoyed spending time camping with family and friends, and time at their mountain cabin. Durbin was an avid photographer, traveling with his wife throughout the United States. His photos have appeared in travel websites and magazines. He also photographed High School and College sporting events which have appeared on sporting calendars.

He is survived by his loving wife, Betty J. Horn College of nearly 62 years; two daughters: JoLinda Frey of Lewisberry, PA, and Kimberly and her husband, Brian of Dillsburg, PA; three granddaughters, Chelsey Albert and husband, Edward of Etters, PA; McKenzie Cradduck and husband, Peter of Mercersburg, PA, and Kennedy Geiser, and her husband, Sam, of Carlisle, PA.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his infant great-grandson, Alden Austin Cradduck.

A memorial service will begin at 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, January 17, 2023 at St. Mark's Lutheran Church, 601 Washington Ave. Hagerstown, MD, officiated by Rev. Dave Kaplan. The service will begin with a Masonic service. Interment will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Greencastle. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.

I was the little girl that lived across the street from the College's and the Clevers. He was always so friendly even to us little one.......I will always remember is quick hello..........so sorry for your loss....

Durb will be missed greatly by all who knew him. He loved his family and loved taking pictures and traveling. It was always a pleasure to sit and talk with him at family gatherings. My thoughts and prayers go out to all the family at this time. Savor the memories.
