He was the object of my affection at Wrightsboro when I was in 2nd grade/1947-8. I never thought he noticed me when he suddenly came to my house to give me Christmas gift, 1957, of a silver cross necklace. We'd never had contact in all those year. I'd tried to locate him and have been saddened to find his obit. He is still special to me. A good man, so I've been told.

Janice and family I am so sorry to hear of Durwoods passing. I met him in 1958 when I married into the family. I never saw him without a smile on his face and knew him as a wonderful husband and father and a friend to all. He reminds me so much of Aunt Lily. He used to love going to all the Bradshaw reunions at Horse Branch Community Building. I know that he will be so missed by all of his family. Take comfort in the knowledge that one day all of you will be together again in heaven. Remember me not with tears of sorrow , for my destiny is complete and I am resting in the arms of Jesus God bless all of you.

I met Durwood when I was 16 and working at Hess. I work there for several summers. I was doing a clean up on a large tank with him, we were 60+ feet off the ground, I got in the slippery cleaning solutions and started going to the edge, lucky he got to me in time, I feel like he saved my life that day. He treated me like a kid brother all those years at Hess and always gave me great advice about life. Later in my mid 20s I move to Hampstead and was happy to reconnect with him at the Ace hardware store. He was in my eyes a great person. Thank you Durwood for being in my life.
