Dustin Lee Dinwiddie

On 02/22/2022 Dustin Lee Dinwiddie unexpectedly passed away, Dustin was Born 04/22/1983 (39yrs) in Yuma, AZ to his parents Lydia Dinwiddie & Donald Dinwiddie. Dustin spent his youth attending grade school in Somerton AZ and Yuma AZ he was a high school graduate of Cibola High School. Dustin was a member of the Cibola marching band, Civil Air Patrol, and the Arizona Western College jazz band.

Dustin discovered his true calling in life at an early age, being a Firefighter, and later obtaining his Paramedic certification and working for almost all the surrounding fire departments in Yuma County, Somerton/Cocopah Fire Department, Rural Metro Fire Department, Tri-Valley Fire Department and Yuma Proving Grounds Fire Department. Dustin enjoyed every aspect of the job, but he excelled greatly when it came to teaching. Dustin would constantly want to discuss various aspects of the job such as hazardous material, rope rescue, fire ground tactics, and many more topics daily. He would spend his free time enjoying hobbies such as hunting, camping, shooting, reloading, fishing, kayaking, and cooking outside on his smoker. Dustin spent nearly 20 years in the fire service and multiple departments and even when his body would no longer allow him to continue, he strived to educate future firefighters. Dustin spent time in Kingman AZ at Lee Williams high school where he was hired to teach high school students a fire-based curriculum. Dustin also spent time in Gonzalez Louisiana where he was hired to instruct a hazardous materials technician course. His most recent endeavor was refreshing his paramedic certification to return to the job he loved. Dustin was in the hiring process for AMR as a paramedic in Las Vegas NV, at the time of his passing.

Dustin Lee Dinwiddie is survived by his son, Hayden Lee Dinwiddie, daughter, Hailey Faith Dinwiddie. His parents Lydia Dinwiddie & Donald Dinwiddie. And his brother Matthew Dinwiddie.

I am so deeply sorry for your loss. Dustin had such a big heart! He is free now and at peace with Jesus Christ our Savior. Dustin will forever always be in our hearts. Hayden and Hailey, your dad will always be with you. Watching over and guiding you in life. You both were his greatest accomplishments.

I am so sorry to hear of Dustin’s passing. He has been taken too soon. Dustin was a few years older than me but he was always kind to me and the other young Somerton kids in band (and everywhere else). I am just so deeply sorry.

I’m thankful to have the pleasure of getting to know Dustin Dustin when he was in the explorer program for Rural/ Metro. At that time he was a Laid-backed easy go teenager and he had a big heart. Also had the pleasure of watching him through some of his career when he was in Yuma. It was a pleasure getting to see him grow and become the man you all knew. Dustin at one point in the time has touched all of our hear’s in one form or another. I know Frank is watching over Dustin. My condolences to your family. You will be missed

Hard to find the words Dustin.
I feel like I’ve known you the majority of your life, at least your entire career.
I remember meeting you for the first time and knowing you’d do great things in your career.
You lit up the room anytime you walked in. I’ve never seen you in a bad mood and you always made me laugh.
I’ll see you again some day and I know you’ll have so much to teach me. Love ya “Dees”
