E. Underwood Obituary

E. Josephine (Rogers) Underwood, 87, of 135 Pleasant St., formerly of 88 Carter St., died Wednesday, December 24, 2008 in Holy Trinity Nursing Center, Worcester, after an illness. Her husband of 62 years, Francis E. "Unkie" Underwood, died in 2006.

She leaves a son, James F. Underwood and his wife, Priscilla of Worcester; a daughter-in-law, Cathy Munyon of Berlin; six grandchildren: Gregg, Erin, Jamie, Tommy, Amy, and Brian Underwood; and one great-granddaughter, Natalie Underwood. She was predeceased by her son, Robert C. Underwood, who died in 1990, and her sister, Edith Pelletier.

Josephine was born in Berlin, the daughter of Clyde and Iva (Hebb) Rogers, and was a life-long resident. She was a graduate of Hudson High School, Class of 1939, and Becker College.

For 30 years until her retirement, she worked as the ER Secretary at Marlborough Hospital. Previously, she worked for 27 years at the former Colonial Press of Clinton.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Berlin, and enjoyed her Pug dogs.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours in the McNally & Watson Funeral Home, 304 Church St., Clinton on Monday, December 29, 2008, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Burial will be private. Flowers may be sent, or donations may be made in her memory to the Berlin Rescue Squad, c/o Janet Bartlett, 23 Linden St., Berlin, MA 01503.
