Ebony Wilson-Selmon Obituary

Ebony Nicole Wilson-Selmon, affectionately known as Nikki, passed away on August 2, 2023, at the age of 46, in Far Rockaway, New York. She was born on January 20, 1977, in Syracuse, New York, to Constance P. Wilson and the late Owen L. Wilson.

Nikki is survived by her loving husband, Angelo Selmon(Syracuse,NY).her mother, Constance P. Wilson,(Anderson,S.Carolina) her sister, Ivory P. Wilson,(San Diego, California) and her maternal grandparents, Aurzelia (Andrew) Watson(Dayton,Ohio). Several stepsons and step daughters
In addition to her immediate family, Nikki leaves behind a wide circle of aunts, uncles, cousins, and her beloved dog, Princess.
In addition to her father, Nikki was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Harol Lee Sr, her maternal great-grandfather Lora Hinton Sr., and stepdaughter, Lizzie Ann Selmon-Johnson.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on August 19, 2023, at
Eternal Hope Worship Church, located at 1507 James Street, Syracuse, NY 13203. The service will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Friends, family, and all those whose lives were touched by Nikki are invited to attend and pay their respects.

Ebony, in my estimation, was a shining star in her brilliance! I recall that she wrote articles in her high school newsletters, as well as in one of Syracuse´s newspapers. I always looked forward to reading them and recognizing one of her talents!

Nikki, you've been my best friend since we were in preschool. I remember the first day of kindergarten my mom was doing my hair, and I asked her if you were going to be in my class. She said she didn't know. I remember in first grade we got split up, and second grade and I'm pretty sure third grade too and 4th, but in 5th grade we got to start switching classes, and we had some of the same classes. In 6th grade we also got to switch classes. And we had a 6th grade dance, and I told you that "I was in love with Kevin Thompson, and that I was going to kiss him behind the curtains on the stadium". You told me "No Way! Uhh -uh!" And I went and I did it. And you were so shocked. And then I told you that I was going to marry him. I have so many memories that I could sit here for hours and go on and on and on and on. You knew me better than I knew myself. And you love me no matter what I did, or how messed up I got at times. You always loved me, FOR ME! And no matter how much time went between us talking, we'd always pick up right where we left off, like we had just spoken to each other an hour earlier. I love that about us. I am going to miss you more than you will ever know. I'm so glad you're at peace. And I hope that you rest in paradise. I love you my sister not by blood but by heart!
