Ed is survived by his wife of 46 years Carol Pearson, son Edward Pearson/Maria, of Lafayette Indiana, daughter Paula Pearson of Westminster, Colorado. 4 grandsons, Eddie Pearson/Elaine of Indianapolis, Indiana, Daasch, Cal and Rhett Pearson, of Lafayette, Indiana. Stepsons George "Randi" Claxton, of San Diego, CA, and Greg Claxton/Cristin, of Lafayette, Indiana, and step grandson Morgan Shaffer/Kayla of Hopkinsville, Kentucky.

Ed was especially fond of his 3 golden retrievers, Bogey, Missy, and Madison. Often taking them on his travels. Singing country songs along the way!!!!

After a brief stretch in professional baseball, Ed had a long and impressive career in broadcasting advertising sales. He began his love of broadcasting in Indianapolis, Indiana in 1968. He spent a brief time as the nightly news caster at WLFI in Lafayette/West Lafayette too. His career brought him to many cities including Detroit, New York and Chicago. Early in his career he worked for Capital Cities/ABC that was aquired by The Walt Disney Company in 1996. At this time Ed moved to Chicago where he was the Vice President of Sales for WLS-TV (ABC7). It was at WLS where Ed made a large impact to the television business and more importantly to those that worked for him. Ed was well known for his integrity, honesty and was a generous colleague and business partner. His relationships go beyond generations and his ability to mentor countless individuals was legendary. In 2006 Ed was hired to lead new business ventures for ABC National TV Sales, and he retired from ABC in 2009.

Ed was an avid golfer and his time on the course helped define who he was through his early and even later years. Following retirement Ed and Carol expanded their love of travel and were able to enjoy visiting over 20 countries on Cruises.

Ed had a lasting impact on everyone that knew him. He had an exceptional memory and loved to gather friends, family and colleagues with tales about how things came to be. He was surrounded by his family until the end.

There will be a Celebration of Life at Black Hawk C.C. in Richmond, Tx. 77407 on November 23rd, 2024 from 2 PM TO 4 PM and later in Chicago tbd. In lieu of flowers Ed asked that donations be made to The Anti-Cruelty Society.
