Edna COPITHORNE Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Apr. 7, 2004.
COPITHORNE _ Edna Avis 1908 - 2004 Our beloved mother passed peacefully into the arms of her Saviour on the afternoon of Monday, April 5, 2004 at her home on the CL Ranch in Jumping Pound, Alberta, surrounded by her family. Edna was a loving helpmate to her husband Percy and mother to their three children. She accepted her role as rancher's wife with skill and dedication. She was a gifted and gracious hostess. There was always room at the table for one more at mealtime, and there was plenty of delicious baking for teatime visitors. Elegance and grace were adjectives often used to describe her. Teatime took on a new meaning for her though, when she discovered golf. She instilled in each of her children a love for the Lord and this has been passed down through each generation. She loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Family came first. Edna was predeceased by her husband Percy; her sister and brother-in-law, Ruth and Ed Davies; her parents Martha and Frank Brown. She is survived by two daughters, Sheila (Ted) Burger, Margaret (John) Ramsay; and one son Marshall (Teresa); eleven grandchildren, Dixie, Betty, Lynn, Cherie, Kathy, Michelle, Ryan, Jennifer, Erin, Melissa, Gillian; eleven great-grandchildren; a niece Aileen (John) Copithorne and a nephew Gordon Davies. Special thanks to all her wonderful caregivers. Funeral Services for Edna will be held at the Cochrane Alliance Church (902 Glenbow Drive), Cochrane, Alberta on Thursday, April 8, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Don Neufeld officiating. Interment Cochrane Cemetery, Cochrane, Alberta. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Edna's memory to the Dr. George McQuitty Memorial Society. Arrangements in care of Lawrence (Larry) Slywka and Patrick Slywka of SLYWKA'S COCHRANE COUNTRY FUNERAL HOME of Calgary and Cochrane, Alberta. Phone: 1-403-932-1039. 051639
