Published by Legacy Remembers from Jul. 28 to Jul. 30, 2009.
Edna Mae Hartman, of Fairmont (Powell Community), passed into eternal rest Sunday (July 26, 2009) at Fairmont General Hospital, surrounded by her family. She was born Nov. 17, 1919, in Hardy County, to the late Loomis and Maggie Lloyd Rinker. She retired at the age of 70 from the Marion County Board of Education. Her strong work ethic was instilled at an early age and continued until her last breath. She worked alongside her husband in everything he did, from cutting timber in Hampshire County to pumping gas in Fairmont.Mrs. Hartman is survived by the one who loved her most, her granddaughter, Lisa Fluharty and her husband Jeff; and her daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn and Dale Cheuvront, who were also her long-time caregivers. Also left to cherish her memory are the loves of her life, her great-grandsons, Levi and Corey Fluharty. Edna will long be remembered by her special niece, Pearl Haslacker of Petersburg, and a loving neighbor and friend, Linda Keener and her husband Franklin, and also a sister Pauline Pancake of Buchannon.Edna has now joined her husband of 62 years, Roy Hartman, who passed away on Oct. 21, 2007, along with several brothers and sisters.Edna's family would like to thank the staff of The Arbors at Fairmont for the tender and loving care they gave her in the last two weeks. At her request, her body will be cremated and her ashes will join her husband's at Spruce Knob Lake and High Knob Mountain where they loved to hunt and fish. The Frey Home For Funerals has been entrusted with her arrangements. Condolences may be sent to the family at [email protected].
