Edna Mae Swingle

Mae Swingle of Las Vegas, NV died March 22, 2020, at age of 95 years old. She was born January 15, 1925 in Sparta, NJ to parents George and Edna (Lake) Castimore.

She met her husband, Howard Swingle, from Hawley, PA. while he was working at Picatinny Arsenal, Wharton, NJ. They married September 10, 1944 in Sparta, NJ. They built their life together in Sparta, NJ. After her husband died, Mae moved to Lake Ariel, Pa to be close to her daughter, Florence Valkenburg. She then moved to Naples, Fl to enjoy the warmer weather with her youngest daughter, Arlene Gariepy. She moved back to PA and then finally moved to Las Vegas in 2018.

She really enjoyed traveling and visiting our National Parks with Bryce, Zion and Cedar Breaks being her top choices. Mae also enjoyed gardening and scrapbooking. She was very passionate about going to the library her favorite books were mysteries. Mae being surrounded by water all her life, she loved to swim at Glen Lake, in Sparta NJ. She was an excellent swimmer.

She is survived by her three daughters: Florence Valkenburg of Gouldsboro, PA. Darlene Greenough of Las Vegas, NV and Arlene Gariepy of Naples, FL. Mae has eight Grandchildren, four Great Grandchildren and one Great Great Grandchild.

She was preceded in passing by: her husband Howard Swingle 1981, son David Swingle 1946, and son-in-law Wesley Valkenburg 2001.

Per Mae's wishes there will be no formal funeral services. A private burial and celebration of life will be scheduled at a later date.
