Eduard Sacher

SACHER, Eduard Ernst August 30, 1918 March 28, 2009 Eduard Sacher passed away peacefully in Langley, British Columbia at the age of 90 years. Eduard was born in Levoca, Slovakia in 1918. He emigrated from Germany with his family in 1952, bringing with him the family upholstery business established in 1922. Eduard leaves behind one daughter, Christine (Ron) Grant; six sons, Peter (Janet), John (Beryl), George (Sharon), Martin (Mavis), Anthony (Colette), and Edward (Connie); sixteen grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Eduard enjoyed a full life working hard to build his business, Sacher's Upholstery in Saskatoon, until his retirement at age 54. Eduard then pursued his new passion sailing. Eduard sailed out of Anacortes, Washington and then out of the Caribbean for the next 31 years as captain of his own charter boat. At age 85, health issues brought him back to Canada. Eduard resided in Langley until the time of his death. At Eduard's request, there will be no service.
