Eduardo Padilla Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jun. 23, 2024.
Eduardo "Eddie" Padilla, age 67, passed away peacefully in his home on June 19th, 2024, surrounded by his beloved wife Gay and his daughters Victoria (husband Gustavo), Tiffany, and Isabelle. He was a playful, silly Papa to his four grandchildren, the light of his life. He leaves behind many extended family and friends who miss him dearly.

Eddie was born in El Paso, Texas, to Gloria Esther Padilla and Carlos Padilla, and grew up the youngest of six siblings (Carlos, Gloria, Rodolfo, Arturo, and Ernesto), always getting up to mischief. His brilliance, ingenuity, and creativity set him apart from a young age, and his father, a master watchmaker and jeweler, entrusted him with the craft at the age of twelve. When he was fifteen, Eddie was allowed to create and teach his very own class at El Paso High School on jewelry design, and his spark for teaching endured throughout his whole life.

Eddie continued honing his craft and poured his passion into both the art and the business of jewelry. His designs had the graceful touch of an artist, with the precision and meticulousness of an architect. His first career taught him the patience, tenacity, and confidence that carried him into many other endeavors; he never limited himself to only one skillset or field. He spent the last fifteen years of his life dedicated to building his own energy consulting business.

Eddie had an instinct for engineering, and he was insatiably curious about how things worked. He would build tools to fix other tools, or take on projects others might deem certifiably insane (like repairing a cello that had been run over by a car). But if anyone could do it, Eddie could-and he did. We will never forget the pride he would wear on his face when he'd finally solved a problem.

More than anything else, family was at the center of Eddie's life. His sense of humor and lightheartedness drew everyone near him, and he was a favorite uncle, cousin, brother, friend, and father figure to many. He enjoyed countless hunting and fishing adventures with his close loved ones, and he made a true effort to support all his young family members in their passions.

Eddie's "never say die" attitude extended even into his final days, as he fought to give his family enough time to say goodbye. He endured immense pain but faced every day with bravery, holding on long enough to meet his newborn grandbaby Fae, who gave us all the gift of his last smile.

No words are enough to sum up all that Eddie was for us. His absence leaves an enormous hole in our hearts. It was a great blessing to have known and loved him. May he rest in eternal peace knowing he will never be forgotten.

Memorial service will be held at Perches Funeral Homes West on Wednesday, June 26th at 5pm, and the funeral will be at Holy Family Church on Thursday, June 27th at 10am, with burial to follow at Memorial Gardens of the Valley. Eddie was a fine fellow, always a pleasure to be around, never at a loss for a good word. We enjoyed hunting together, and later we reconnected when Charlotte taught young Victoria piano. I'm sorry that I wasn't able to attend the services. Charlotte and I extend our sympathy to Gay, the children, and his brother Ernie. May Eddie rest in peace -

Our Condolence to Gay and the family. You are in our Thoughts and Prayers. Oh, the memories...camping, fishing, laughter, and my Wedding ring that the boys helped me design. Love, Philip, Jeri, and Charles Kienle

I remember that Eddie knew how to play the violin and had been showing a young Tiffany how to play. This memory is from around 2010 - 2011. I was always impressed by his can do spirit and devotion to his family. May he rest in glorious peace

Eddy was a very good friend and hunting companion. I cannot remember ever having a bad time with him. In the field, he had no peer. We shot our Boone and Crockett antelopes on the same day and I would not have obtained my trophy antelope without his help. He and Rudy were great artists. I treasure the ring he made at my wife's request for a surprise birthday gift. He always had a big smile for all he encountered. Linda and I send our respect and sympathy to his family. Eddy will be missed and well remembered by all who were fortunate enough to know him.
