Out grandfather, Joseph Frenzel, was a good friend of Ed’s. They were in the same battery, both fought in the Battle of the Bulge, and then met later in life in the local chapter of the Battle of the Bulge and living just a few miles away from each other. Our grandparents always spoke so highly of Ed and they enjoyed spending time with him and Agnes. Our grandmother, Shirley, sends her condolences.
We send our sympathy to the family and may he Rest In Peace.
Sincerely,
Megan Padelford and Jason Slutsky

I first met Ed in June 1961 when I began work as a junior engineer in the Soils Mechanics Bureau of the then NYSDPW in Latham. I think that Ed was a senior technician. He showed me how to conduct some of the soils tests. Our paths separated when he moved on to the Real Estate Division. We connected again when we were both Eucharistic Ministers at CTK. Later, I chatted with him when I conducted a couple of Communion Services at Atria Crossgates. The last time I spoke to him was in January or early February when I was visiting. He was in the lobby. He looked sharp dressed with his string tie. He was a great guy and a fine gentlemen. He will be missed.
