Edward Shaffer entered the world on July 22, 1933 and passed away on his 92nd birthday, July 22, 2025.

He was born in Malden, MA, the son of the late Abraham & Emma Freehoff and is predeceased by brothers, Daniel and Sidney. Edward is survived by his sister, Marylyn Schultz.

He was a proud veteran of the US Army, serving his country during the Korean war.

Ed's life was marked by his persistence in his profession, a life-long career in the auto industry as an aftermarket salesman. A vibrant spirit that touched everyone around him, a true "people's person".

Ed was a devoted husband, father, brother, friend and "papa".

He is survived by his loving wife, Veronica (Ronnie) of forty two years. He is also survived by his daughters ; Laura and her husband Bill Azar, Diane and her husband, Dwayne Maclennan and his stepchildren, Kathy, Ray, Alan and spouse Michelle Palmer.

He cherished his time with his grandchildren - Justin , Bethany , Raymond , Emily , Stephanie Maxwell , Isabelle , Emma , Matthew , Thomas and Sophie along with his seven great grandchildren.

Ed enjoyed playing and watching golf., an avid reader, always having a book on hand. He was dedicated to exercising and maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

He was very devoted to his Jewish faith, a member of Sha'aray Shalom, he looked forward to the Friday night services and loved to share his Yiddish phrases.

As we say goodbye to Ed , we celebrate his life, his spirit, and his enduring impact on all who knew and loved him.

A memorial Service will be held at Sha'aray Shalom,1112 Main Street, Hingham, MA on Thursday, September 4th at 11a.m.
