Eileen Collins Obituary

Eileen C. Collins, 82, formerly of Gloversville, NY, passed away peacefully on August 25th, 2025, in Manassas, Virginia. Funeral service will be held in Herndon, VA. Burial will follow at Arlington National Cemetery, in Washington, DC. Adams Green Funeral Home in Herndon VA will be managing the funeral arrangements. Dates for funeral service and burial will be determined at a later date. Eileen, born Alina, was born in Warsaw, Poland on December 2, 1942. She went to high school at West Warwick Sr High School in Rhode Island and graduated in 1961. She worked as a Home Health Aid for Home Health Care Partners, Inc for several years, and for the Gloversville Enlarged School District. She was an accomplished seamstress, enjoyed reading, cooking, long drives in the Adirondacks, enjoying Sacandaga Lake with family and friends, and dancing the jitterbug with, and recalling loving memories of, her late husband, ADCS William G Collins, USN. They were married on May 28, 1964. She was a member of Sacred Heart and St Mary of Mt Carmel Parishes in Gloversville, NY. Eileen is survived by her sister, Theresa, of Rhode Island, and her children: Karen of Jacksonville, FL, William of Richmondville, NY, Kevin of Great Mills, MD, Michael, of Herndon, Va, and Deanna, of Scarsdale, NY, and her grandchildren: Helanea, Cody, Caitlin, Zachary, Tyler, Justin, Neal, and Emily and one great-grandchild, Adeline. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, William G Collins, her sister Mary DeCesare, her mother Josephine Balcerzak, and her brother, John Balcerzak. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Arlington National Cemetery or Eddy Alzheimer's Services of NY.
