Eileen Kronberger Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Sep. 5, 2025.
Eileen Mary Kronberger (McCabe), age 63, passed away on September 1, 2025, in Madison, Wisconsin surrounded by her loving family. Born on April 20, 1962, in Chicago, Illinois, Eileen lived a life defined by compassion, service, and unwavering dedication to others.

Eileen devoted over three decades of her life to emergency medical services, working as an EMT for the Central Price County Ambulance Service for 32 years. Her leadership and commitment were further exemplified during her 18 years as Service Director. In this role, she not only provided critical care but also mentored countless colleagues and helped shape the future of emergency response in her community. Her passion for helping others extended beyond her professional duties-she served on the NTC Advisory Board for 12 years, contributing her insight and experience to guide educational and training programs in the field.

Her work was more than a career; it was a calling. Eileen approached every shift with selflessness and compassion, always putting the needs of others before her own. Whether responding to emergencies or supporting fellow EMTs, she embodied the true spirit of public service.

At home, Eileen was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who cared deeply for her family. She is survived by her devoted husband, Mark Kronberger Sr.; their children Marlene Kronberger, Mark Kronberger Jr. (Lindsie Gillett), and Margaret Kronberger; and her cherished grandson Kaden Kronberger. Her nurturing spirit and boundless love were constants in their lives.

She is also survived by her mother Colleen Stark; sisters Nancy McCabe and Mary McCabe; and many other close family members who will miss her dearly. Eileen was preceded in death by her father Thomas McCabe; brother Michael McCabe; and many other dear family members whose memories she held close to her heart.

Eileen's legacy is one of tireless service and deep love-for her family, friends, colleagues, and community. She touched countless lives through both her professional work and personal kindness. Those who knew her will remember her as one of the most selfless people they ever met-someone who consistently placed others' well-being above her own.

May Eileen's memory bring comfort to all who knew and loved her. A Celebration of Life will be held on September 20, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 01:00 PM at Peace Lutheran Church 600 2nd Avenue North Park Falls, Wi 54552.

Mark, Marly, MJ, Maggie and Kayden: my heart hurts for you. Eileen was a special lady and I will miss her.
We first got to know the Kronbergers when our kids were in middle school. Sitting in the bleachers, cheering, watching our husbands in those puffy blue coach´s jackets encouraging the kids.
When I thought about becoming an EMT, Ei said to me "yes, you should! Here´s how I can help you do that". Her manner with patients was so calming and reassuring. Sometimes we sang to our patients, Eileen had a lovely voice. She was such a good roll model. I can truly say I am a better EMT because of her and our community benefitted greatly.
Eileen, I will miss you so much (and your `crockpot hamburger stew´!)
With love, Marjy

When someone like Eileen passes it affects many. First and foremost, her husband Mark and "kids as adults". We all have words for me they don´t seem adequate. Knowing this I am very sorry. I can honestly say you are/were her world.
As a former member of CPCAS I have personally seen all she was for the other EMT´s through the years. When I found out my thought was "Our Eileen"? For those of us who were younger we referred to her as "Mama Bear". She took us under her wing, guided us, corrected us, calmed us, etc.... She walked the walk and talked the talk.
Treasure the memories, cherish the contact, remember the smile. Gone but never forgotten, rest in peace, until we see each other again. You will be missed!
