Eileen McInerney McDermott

McDermott, Eileen McInerney passed peacefully in her sleep on February 14, 2019. By her side as always was her loving husband of nearly 37 years, Patrick.
Born in Fresno, California on September 2, 1943 to Thomas and Mary McInerney, Eileen was their only daughter and beloved sister to Tom, John, Mark, and Matt. She and Patrick married in 1982, and enjoyed a life together traveling the world, spending time with their friends and family, and giving back to others through various charitable pursuits.
Eileen was a beloved aunt and "bonus Mom" to her nieces and nephews (Darren, Lauren, Erin, Kate, Drew, Chris, Mitchell and Michael). She worked for Belridge Oil early in her career and dedicated much of her life to charitable organizations such as the Assistance League of Laguna Beach and Human Options.
Eileen will be remembered for her smile, her laugh, and her ability to make every stranger a friend. She truly lit up the room and spread happiness wherever she went. She bravely battled and beat breast cancer, and faced lung cancer with her trademark fierceness and tenacity that couldn't be rivaled.
Eileen is preceded in death by her parents, her brother John, and her sister-in-law Carolyn who will, no doubt, greet her in heaven. Cheers to our beautiful Eileen and a life well lived.
