Elaine D. Brody, age 82, passed away Tuesday, March 28th, 2023. Elaine was born November 2, 1940 in Chicago, Illinois to the late Melvin and Margaret Gehl.
Elaine was a devoted wife, mom, grandma, great-grandma and friend. She worked 30 years as a ward secretary at Northwest Community Hospital. In her retirement, she enjoyed shopping, lunch dates, quilting and the community activities at Del Webb/Sun City, where she resided for 16 years. Elaine was a member of Shepherd of the Prairie Lutheran Church, Huntley.
Elaine is survived by her husband of 41 years, Warren Brody; her children, Mike (Michelle) Hopkins, Steve (Chris) Hopkins, Scott (Tess) Hopkins, Jennifer Hopkins, Karen Brody and Mindy Ridenour; her grandchildren, Christopher (Basia), Alex, Natalie, Jakob, Samantha, Steven, Sydney, Bella, Melanie and Sophia; her great-grandchildren, Macy, Aiden and Sylvia; her brother Richard (Kerrie) Gehl, sister-in-law Lindy and 5 nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Elaine was preceded in death by her brother David Gehl and son-in-law Eric Ridenour.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 15th at 10:00am at Shepherd of the Prairie Church, 10805 Main St. Huntley, IL. Worship service will begin at 11:00am, immediately followed by a luncheon.
