Elaine Mahoney

Elaine Mahoney, 74, of Acushnet, MA passed away December 10, 2018. Elaine was born December 11, 1943, the daughter of Francis E. and Gertrude (Layland) Mahoney in New Bedford, MA. She graduated from New Bedford High School and worked in the medical records department at St Luke's Hospital. She was fortunate to retire at an early age and have the opportunity to pursue her passions. She was a true sports enthusiast – especially concerning anything that involved her beloved Red Sox and Patriots. She enjoyed her cats, the abundant nature in her yard, and the never-ending hunt for collectible treasures. She dearly loved and was loved by multiple generations of cousins.

Elaine was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her cousin, Barbara (Herzog) Burns and several successive generations of cousins.

A funeral service will take place at St Andrew's Episcopal Church in New Bedford on Tuesday, December 18, 2018 at 10:00 am. The Reverend Rebecca Blair will officiate. Memorial donations may be sent to the Salvation Army of Greater New Bedford or the North East Animal Shelter in Salem. Arrangements are in the care of the ROCK FUNERAL HOME in New Bedford.
