Elaine Seiler, born February 8, 1940 in Hewlett, Long Island, passed away on August 10, 2024, in Seattle, WA, at the age of 84. Elaine was truly one of a kind-living her life with a fearless spirit and an unwavering commitment to her beliefs.
Elaine had a distinctive and joyful approach to life, guided by her belief in the interconnectedness of all things. She was passionate about seeing the world and spent time living on four continents, exploring other cultures, and developing her fascination with energy and all things esoteric. She was known to consult a crystal pendulum in times of uncertainty and famous for the bright, colorful outfits she carefully selected to match the energy she felt around her. Above all, Elaine embraced her quirks with a sense of humor and was unapologetically herself.
Her career was as eclectic and adventurous as she was. She attended Woodmere Academy and Barnard College, studying abroad in France before later teaching English in Japan. She served on school boards and non-profits, and worked as a research assistant to renowned anthropologist Margaret Mead at the Museum of Natural History. Driven by her passion for sustainable development and healthy living, Elaine co-founded a permaculture farm near Mullumbimby, Australia. All of these pursuits ultimately led Elaine to her life's work-pioneering Transformation Energetics, a field devoted to fostering personal and planetary harmony, and authoring her book Multi Dimensional You.
Though her passions took her around the world, she deeply loved her children and grandchildren, always carrying them in her heart and cherishing the time they spent together.
Elaine is survived by her four beloved children and their current or former partners: Elizabeth Gross & Kevin Peacock, Richard Gross, Jennifer Welsh Gross, Barbara Gross & Pedro Benitez, and Patricia Feinberg & Jeff Feinberg; her nine cherished grandchildren: Samara and Aidan McCracken, Jessica, Allison, Benjamin, and Jack Gross, Isaac Guzman, and Hudson and Seiler Feinberg; and her great-grandchild, Everly Elizabeth Auser. Elaine also leaves behind her brother, Lewis Seiler; her step-siblings, John & Barbara Heffer and Janie & Robert Julius; and her nieces and nephews: Doug & Jenny Heffer, Allison Heffer, Jay Galluzzo, Julie Galluzzo Karish & Jeffrey Karish, Skye Seiler, David & Vicky Seiler, and Whitney Seiler & Alex Darrow, along with their respective families. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jacob and Florence Seiler; her stepmother, Muriel Pulvermacher Seiler; and her former husband, Stephen Gross, the father of her children.
Elaine's life was a testament to living authentically. Though her passing marks the end of an extraordinary journey, Elaine would have believed that it also marks the beginning of a new one-unbound by physicality. Her loved ones find comfort in her belief that our true essence exists beyond the limits of space and time. Her presence will be deeply missed but her wisdom, love, and spirit will forever be felt by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you consider donating to a cause of your choice in honor of Elaine's lifelong commitment to philanthropy.
