Eleanor Dodd Cosgrove

Cosgrove, Eleanor Dodd 4/2/1922- 11/13/2010 Eleanor D. Cosgrove of Naples Florida passed away November 13, 2010. She was born in Philadelphia and raised in Germantown Pennsylvania as one of five sisters. Her family heritage was very important to her and she served as the Naples Chapter President of the National Society of Colonial Dames. Cosgrove met her husband, Robert C. Cosgrove, in Minnesota. They lived in Le Sueur and Wayzata Minnesota prior to moving to Naples in 1980. Eleanor was preceded in death by both Robert and second husband Raymond Park. "El" was a lifelong supporter of art, education, and all things beautiful. She believed that art, antiques and culture were cornerstones of society and furthered that belief volunteering her time; co-founding the LeSueur Nursery School, at the Minneapolis Art Institute, as Co-Chairman of the Minnesota Orchestra Symphony Ball, to The Minnetonka Center for the Arts, cofounding the Trinity-By-The- Cove Naples Arts and Antique show and finally as a member of the Board of Directors at the Philharmonic Center For the Arts in Naples. Cosgrove is survived by her children, Robert (Kris) of Chanhassen, MN; Dodd (Ann), Wayzata, MN; Lindsay Gorman (Tom) of Hubbard Woods, IL; and William ( C.A.) of Tacoma, WA. She was also very proud of her eight grandchildren and their achievements. Services will be held on Thursday, November 18th at 2 PM at Trinity-By- The Cove, 553 Galleon Drive, Naples FL 34102. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Trinity-By-The-Cove Endowment fund in the name of Eleanor Cosgrove would help continue the work of her lifetime. Go In Peace
