Mary Roesel Obituary
NORTON -- Mary Ellen Roesel, 77, of Norton, passed away Tuesday, April 23, 2019.
She was born January 14, 1942 in Wadsworth to the late Ellis E. and Julia M. Frederick. She was a graduate of Norton High School and attended The Chapel Green Campus.
She was employed as a school bus driver with Norton schools, retiring with 30 years of service, loving every minute of it.
She felt it was important to serve the Lord by helping those in need and generously volunteered her time to Servant Week service projects, Appalachian Service Project work weeks, and helping with Friendship Meals in Orrville. She loved participating in her Bible Study Fellowship group and making cards with her Card Club. She enjoyed spending time outdoors whether it was walking or riding her bike on the towpath trails, working in her gardens, or mowing her lawn. One of her favorite places to spend her vacation time was at her second home on Fripp Island.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dick; son, Tony; brother, Bob Frederick; and sister, Carol Foutty. Mary Ellen will be greatly missed by her children: Lisa (Ken) Owens of Wadsworth, Rick Roesel of Wadsworth, Mark Roesel of Barberton and Patrick Roesel of Norton; and her grandchildren: Kenny (Kaitlin), Dominic, Amanda, Luke (April), and Derrick, great grandchildren, Logan and Anais; two brothers Lee Fredrick and Tom (Joan) Fredrick; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins, and many dear friends, especially Jan and Twyla.
The family will receive friends 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the Hilliard-Rospert Funeral Home, 174 N. Lyman St., Wadsworth, where a funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday. Interment will be at Woodlawn Cemetery. The family suggests, in lieu of flower arrangements, consider planting a flower or getting a bird feeder as she so enjoyed taking care of her birds, or if you prefer, donations can be made in her name to Friendship Meals P.O. Box 469, Orrville, Ohio 44667 or to the Appalachian Service Project which can be found online at asphome.org.
