Eleanor Lockwood Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Nov. 15, 2022.
Eleanor Bloch Lockwood died at Talbot Hospice on Monday, November 14, 2022, after a short illness.

Eleanor and her beloved husband, Will, moved to Easton from Connecticut 40 years ago and immediately became active and engaged members of the community. Eleanor worked for a number of years at the Easton Board of Health, and volunteered at the Talbot Hospice, Talbot County Board of Elections, the Festival of Trees, Waterfowl Festival, Plein Air Easton, and more.

Eleanor was an ardent Democrat and a consummate craftswoman, known for her gifts of knitted blankets, hooked rugs, and embroidery. Her cooking - and her collection of recipes and cookbooks - are legendary.

Will Lockwood died in 2015. Eleanor was also predeceased by her sister and brother-in-law, Henrietta and Tom Mondani.

She is survived by her brother, Edward Bloch and his wife Dottie; her "children" including nieces, Tracy Bloch and Suzanne MacDougall (Ryan); nephews, Thomas and James Mondani (Cara); stepchildren, Andrée Lockwood, Rachel L. Gonzalez-Falla (José), and Win Lockwood (Emily Wassyng); granddaughter, Andrée Lamm (Ryan); great-nieces and nephews, Mairin and Thomas MacDougall, Elizabeth, Nina, and Thomas Mondani, and Henry Mondani.

Eleanor and Will always had dogs in their lives, including Candy, Sandy, Molly, Benny, and the companion of her last years, Frito. The family thanks Eleanor's close friends and neighbors who sustained her, especially Karen and Dennis Mesko and Robin and Pat Page.

Services will be held at a later date.

Memorial contributions in Eleanor's name may be made to Talbot Hospice, 586 Cynwood Dr, Easton, MD 21601 (www.talbothospice.org) or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 (www.stjude.org/donate/).
