Elewede Newell Obituary
Age 75 of Homestead on Aug. 28, after a lengthy illness. Beloved wife of Walter Newell Jr.; mother of Louise Benton, Paul, Bertha, Herbert, Earl and Richard Newell; also survived by her siblings, Pearle B. Sylvester, George A., Kenny, Lillie and Algie Britton Jr.; also survived by six grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. Visitation with the family will be on Tues. 2-9 pm at the Second Baptist Church, West 12th Ave., Homestead where Funeral Service will be held on Wed. at 11 am. Interment Homestead Cemetery. TUNIE FUNERAL HOME in charge of arrangements.

My deepest sympathies go out to the Newell family. I knew Elewede when she worked here at DU, and have only fond memories of her. Regrets that I could not extend my sympathies in person, especially to her son Richard. Elewede, Richard and their entire family will be in my thoughts and prayers.
