Elinor Ewen

Elinor A. Ewen (nee Fleck) Hobart, IN Elinor A. Ewen (nee Fleck), age 88, of Hobart, IN, passed away Monday, August 20, 2007 at St. Mary Medical Center in Hobart, IN. She was a longtime Hobart resident and formerly of Glen Park. Elinor and her husband, Donald, were the owners of the Don Ewen's Farm Markets in Glen Park and Hobart. Elinor was a graduate of Hobart High School, member of the Sigmas of Hobart, member of St. Bridget Catholic Church, former member of Blessed Sacrament Church and the Ladies Rosary Sodality. Elinor is survived by four children: Melinda Ewen of Los Angeles, CA, Sally (Clarence) Davis of Crown Point, IN, Janet (Craig) Correll of Carlsbad, CA and Jeffrey Ewen (fiance Gayle Bratton) of Indianapolis, IN; 11 grandchildren: Jennifer Summers, Adam Doremire, Christopher, Sheryl, Kelly and Mark Davis, Eric and Victoria Correll, Caitlind, Cassandra and Michael Ewen; six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Donald Ewen in February of 2007; her parents: Edward and Auvergne Fleck; brother, Edmund Fleck; and son, Donny Ewen. Funeral services will be held Friday, August 24, 2007 beginning with 9:30 a.m. prayers at Rees Funeral Home, 600 W. Old Ridge Road, Hobart, IN and then proceeding to St. Bridget Catholic Church for a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial with Rev. Dominic V. Bertino and Rev. Richard Ameling concelebrating the Mass. Burial will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery in Hobart, IN. Visitation will be Thursday from 3:00-8:00 p.m. with a rosary at 4:00 p.m. at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel (219) 942-2109.
