Elizabeth-Anne "Sue" Farr (nee Duda) Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jan. 13, 2023.
Elizabeth-Anne "Sue" Farr (nee Duda) passed away at the age of 80 on Christmas Eve, 2022 in Santa Fe, NM. Sue was born on November 20, 1942 in Passaic, NJ, to Alexander and Helen Duda, the fourth of seven children. She graduated from West Morris High School, Chester, NJ in 1961.

Sue met her future husband, MAJ Lorin Ballantyne Farr Jr. (RET) while working at Picatinny Arsenal, Dover, NJ and they were married on May 25, 1963. Sue lived in many places during her husband's military career, settling in the Salt Lake area upon his retirement in 1979. After her husband's passing in 2014, Sue moved to Santa Fe to be near her baby sister, Terrie Duda Harris, and Terrie's husband, Glenn Harris.

Sue loved to travel and especially enjoyed the time she lived in Germany while her husband was stationed there. Sue loved cooking and baking, quilting and sewing, and all things crafty. She was a volunteer with Quilts of Valor of Northern NM. Most of all Sue loved her children, to whom she dedicated her time, talents and support; never was an issue too large or too trivial Sue was always there.

Sue is survived by her six sons, David (Robin), Christopher (Tami ), Edward, Andrew (Wendi), Adam, and Michael, six grandchildren, and two great grandchildren; her siblings, Richard Duda, Robert Duda, and Terrie Duda Harris, many nieces and nephews, and grand nieces and nephews; and dear friends.

Sue was predeceased by her husband, MAJ Lorin Ballantine Farr Jr. (RET); her parents, Alexander and Helen Duda; and her brothers, Edward Duda, Alexander Duda, and Kenneth Duda.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that remembrance gifts be made in her memory to either the Quilts of Valor Foundation (https://www.qovf.org/donate/) or the Santa Fe Humane Society (https://sfhumanesociety.org).
