Elizabeth Sawyer Jones

Elizabeth Sawyer Jones, 93, of Jodi Lane and formally of Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina died on Friday February 22nd at Langdon Place in Dover.

Elizabeth was born on January 19, 1915 in Lake Sunapee, NH the daughter of Herbert B. and Alys Mae (Guernsey) Sawyer. She graduated from Sunapee High School and later graduated with a degree in Early Childhood Education from Miss Wheelock School in Boston.

She married Franklin B. Jones in 1939.

She volunteered for 20 years at the East Cooper Regional Medical Center in Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina. She was a member of the Snee Farm Garden Club also in Mt. Pleasant South Carolina.

Survivors include her children; Carolyn S. Arvenitis of Strafford, NH, Susan J. Olley and her husband Donald of Bowie, MD and Sarah M. Donaldson of Wayne, NJ, two grandson’s; Christopher P. Arvenitis of Aurora, CO and Glen A. Donaldson of Philadelphia, PA, four granddaughters; Maria A. Arvenitis of Dover, NH, Kelly D. Bastante of Bloomingdale, NJ, Laura J. Donaldson of Wayne, NJ and Lisa B. Batchelor of Bellmawr, NJ, six great grandchildren; Elizabeth A. Northey of Dover, NH, Joseph F. Bastante and Julia E. Bastante of Bloomingdale, NJ, Benjamin T. Arvenitis and Isabella K. Arvenitis of Aurora, CO and Coleman F.L. Batchelor of Bellmawr, NJ. Two nephews and a niece also survive her.

Elizabeth was pre-deceased by her husband Franklin B. Jones, her parents Herbert B. and Alys Mae (Guernsey) Sawyer as well as her sister Minnie Arnold.

There are no calling hours. A private memorial service will be held at a latter date, at the convenience of the family. Memorial donations in Elizabeth’s name may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
