Elizabeth Newman Obituary

EDEN — Elizabeth Kingston Newman, 90, formerly of Dixon Road, passed away Monday afternoon, January 5, 2009, at Morehead Nursing Center.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, January 8, at Fair Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Newman was born June 25, 1918, in Stokes County, to the late George Henry and Julina Mabe Kingston. She was a retiree of Fieldcrest Mills and had attended Trinity Holiness Ministries.

Surviving are her two daughters, Faye N. Wyatt and husband, Elmo, and Ann N. Wilson and husband, Lewis, both of Eden; brother, Stanley Kingston of Eden; sister, Doris Powell of Eden; five grandchildren, Mark Wyatt, Chad Wyatt and wife, Alisha, Bonnie Wyatt, Lou Ann Macias and husband, Tony, and Tammy Hicks and husband, Jeff; and four great- grandchildren, Jesse and Laura Macias and Cheyenne and Erin Wyatt.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Dan, Newton, Ben, and Sam Kingston; and sister, Carrie Dixon.

The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Wednesday evening at Fair Funeral Home and other times at the home of her granddaughter, Tammy Hicks, 177 Martinwood Road in Eden.

I love you aunt lizzy! we all miss you right now! but, I would rather you go to heaven and be with jesus rather than seeing you lay there and suffer like you did in your final days. I hope that I made your final days more peaceful and comforting.
