Elizabeth Tuach Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on May 25, 2025.
Elizabeth Myers Tuach of Hull and Nantucket, MA peacefully passed away on April 24, 2025 at the Pat Roche Hospice Home in Hingham, MA. She died as graciously and generously as she lived. The family celebrates her 86 years of life.

Elizabeth is survived by her three daughters and their families, Beth Tuach Lendrum and her husband Peter and their children, Christopher and Kaitlyn Moyer and her husband Austin, Laura Tuach and her husband Dave Sanfacon and their children, Katherine and Scot, her daughter Sheryl Tuach Cummings and her husband Michael and their boys Connor and Matthew. She is also survived by her beloved older brother, Charles Myers, his wife Helen of Bryan Mawr, PA and their children Leslie and Charles II and their families.

She was predeceased by her husband, William Tuach and her parents Leslie and Lucille Myers.

Betty, as she was known to her friends and family, was born in Warren, Ohio, where her family owned the local jewelry store, The Vautrot & Myers Company. She was a Buckeye, attending The Ohio State University and a proud sister of Kappa Alpha Theta sorority. She enjoyed a retail career in New York City before moving to Orange, CT where she resided and raised her family for 50 years. Betty was a pioneer in the consignment business, opening one of the first consignment stores in Connecticut. She never lost her love for a good yard sale!

Gams, Gee, and Gammies, the names her grandchildren gave her, took an active role in their lives. To encourage their creative side, she always had a craft to keep them busy. She taught them to cook and talked to them about life lessons. She went out of her way to buy each of them the perfect Christmas ornament each year and to make them their favorite meals.

Her summers were spent on Nantucket Island where she was famous for her heart-shaped waffles and Nantucket blueberry muffins. She loved to garden and meticulously weeded all of the beds well into her eighties. She took great pleasure in hosting the family, cooking delicious meals, and creating beautifully designed flower arrangements.

A private celebration of life will be held this Summer on Nantucket. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Pat Roche Hospice Home in Hingham, MA or the Siasconset Union Chapel in Siasconset, MA.
