Elizabeth Ann Bossard, age 91, Bridgewater, NJ died peacefully with family at her side Tuesday evening 10 May 2016.
Born 03 January 1925, in Riverdale, NJ to the late James Andrew Bossard and Florence Eleanor (Williams) Bossard, Betty graduated with the 6th graduating class from Pompton Lakes High School in 1942. A past member of the Pompton Reformed Church, Pompton Lakes, NJ she married Earl John Whritenour, Sr. who predeceased her in 2000, from Butler, NJ on December 22 1948. Living in Kinnelon, the couple raised two children until 1982 when they moved to Point Pleasant, NJ. Employed mainly as a bookkeeper during her time in Kinnelon she changed careers to the medical field working at NJ Diagnostic & Imaging in Brick, NJ as a patient representative & legal liaison, retiring in 2008 and returning to Sparta, NJ.
Among Betty's many accomplishments was her 70 year service to the NJ Eastern Star holding local and state offices.
Betty is survived by her two sons, John and David, three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Services will be Sat. 21 May 2016 at Richards Funeral Home, Inc., 4 Newark Pompton Tpk, Riverdale, NJ at 1-3 and 6 to 8 PM.
During the 1-3 PM visitation hours a small service is planned at 1:30 PM by the Reverend Patrick Sileo, Sparta Presbyterian Church.
During the 6-8 PM visitation hours a small service will be conducted by members of Silentia Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star at 7:30 PM.
A Private interment of ashes at The Church in Brielle, Brielle, NJ will take place at a later date.
