My sympathies to the entire family. Marie and Paul were friends with my parents from times together at Trinity Evangelical Untied Brethen church. And, that friendship told much about Marie's spirit of helping and giving. I recall sparkling eyes and laughter. How wonderful that she had many years to leave a legacy to Jo, Paul, Jr, grand and great-children of a life well-lived and filled by kindness and love. Time and memories will tenderly replace the sadness.

Our family sends our deep sympathies and warm regards. Auntie Marie is a treasured and integral part of my childhood memories. You are privileged to have enjoyed so many years together. We are sending a donation to the Meyer Orthopedic Foundation to honor both your parents. Ginny and Jeff Mitchell and family

Marie has been our neighbor since 1978 and she will be dearly missed. Paul and Marie were the senior couple and we were the young couple moving to the growing Verona Gardens subdivision. She always had many stories to tell. My favorite was when her single Mother, raising three children, brought home a kitten in her coat pocket. This was after riding two different buses to arrive home after a day of work. Marie was so happy and surprised to see the kitten peeking out of her Mother's pocket. Marie's eyes sparkled whenever she told the story. This was a very special day in her childhood. Just a week before she passed, I saw Marie going to her mailbox. Winter is coming and we wouldn't get a chance to visit as often. Marie and I visited and talked about a Meyer Christmas breakfast tradition. Paul and Jo, please keep this one, it meant so much to your Mother. Whenever we look out the window towards her home, we experience a void. Yes, winter is coming and I wanted to visit my friend that day. I just didn't know winter would be this long.
