I am saddened by Dr. Kernstock's passing but smiling at the fond memories. Was one of his students from 1971-195, and he once told me that i may have majored in Pol Sci, but i minored in Kernstock becuase i had taken every course he taught in the four years i was there. I loved his sense of humor and also enjoyed working for him under the student work-study program. Although i hadn't seen him since graduation, i have thought fondly of him ever since. To Peggy and family, may i extend my deepest and most sincere sympathy. He was truely someone very special.

During my freshman year at St. Michaels, I took one of Dr. Kernstock's political science classes and enjoyed it so much, I enrolled in one of his classes my remaining three years. Even if you didn't agree with his political leanings, he made you think and my interest in politics to this day remains, partly because of him. Rest in peace, Dr. K.

Dear Peggy and Children,

Was saddened to read in the Free Press this morning of Elwyn's passing away.

Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you.

Remembering the fun we had at your house when you guys entertained us with food and piano playing as well as those wonderful tales that Elwyn could always pull out of his hat.

Sorry that you have been away these past years so we didn't get to see you, but our memories are beautiful ones and our prayers and thoughts are with all of you at this time.

Much, much love and sympathy, Bill and Linda Garrett
