Emile Ouellette Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jul. 25, 2025.
Emile Benton Ouellette Sr., 87, passed away peacefully on July 22, 2025, in Stafford Springs, Connecticut. Born on December 1, 1937, in Fort Kent, Maine, Emile lived a full and adventurous life marked by hard work, deep family ties, and a spirited love for the outdoors.

A plumber by trade, Emile was known for his dedication to his craft and his strong work ethic. Beyond his profession, he was a man of many passions. An avid horseman and trailblazer-fondly referred to as a "bushwhacker"-he had an uncanny sense of direction and often joked that he was never lost, just taking the scenic route. His love for the wilderness extended to hunting, where he was always in pursuit of the elusive Big Buck.

Emile's life was deeply rooted in family. He was a devoted husband to his late wife Claire F. Ouellette and a loving father who stood steadfastly by his children: daughter Elizabeth Ashline and Michael Kirby; son Emile Ouellette Jr. and his wife Heidi; and daughter Kimberly Johnson and her husband William Johnson Jr.

He took immense pride in his grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Annie Paulson with Brett, Logan, and Nolan; James Ouellette with Alyssa and Copper; William Johnson III with Shelby and Blakely; Justin Johnson with Tori Seiffert and Elliyanna; Jessica Mulkern with Michael, Claire, and Beckett. Each one held a special place in his heart.

Emile is also survived by his brother Rodney Ouellette. He was predeceased by his parents Emery and Odelle Ouellette and his brother Roland Ouellette.

His extended family included many close cousins, nieces, nephews, and countless friends who shared in his shenanigans and adventures over the years. To all those who supported him through life's journey-God bless you all.

A loving father and loyal friend, Emile will be remembered for his humor, resilience, generosity of spirit, and unwavering presence in the lives of those he cared about. His legacy lives on through the stories told around campfires, the trails he blazed through woods unknown, and the hearts of those fortunate enough to have known him.

May his memory bring comfort to all who knew him as he rides on to greener pastures. No services. Celebration to follow at later date.
