Emily Herzog

Emily Anne Herzog, 19, of Bridgeton, Indiana, died Wednesday, May 13, 2015, from injuries sustained in an auto accident south on U.S. 41 near the Lyford Y. She was born September 8, 1995, in Terre Haute, Indiana, to Steven W. Herzog and Allison M. Young Herzog.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Monday, May 18, at Cottrell-Gooch Funeral Home at 287 N. Main Street in Rosedale, Indiana. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 19, at the funeral home with Pastor Jack E. Hopkins officiating. Burial will be in Joppa Cemetery in northern Vigo County.
Survivors include her parents of Bridgeton, Indiana; sister, Jessica Herzog Strain and husband, Jake, of Fairbanks, Indiana; paternal grandmother, Carolyn June Herzog, of Rosedale, Indiana; maternal grandmother, Jane LeBouef Young, of Houma; boyfriend , Zachary Dickerson, of Terre Haute, Indiana; uncle and godfather, Jimmie F. Herzog, of Sanford, Indiana; aunt, Robin Everhart, of Terre Haute, Indiana; aunt and nanny, Cindy Young Duett, of Biloxi, Mississippi; and cousins, Troy Everhart, Jared Duett, Justin Duett, Jamie Duett, Cora Herzog Maloney and Levi Herzog.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, James Lee Herzog; maternal grandfather, Jack William Young; uncle, Jamie Everhart; and cousin, Ian Scott Everhart.
Emily was a freshman at Indiana State University beginning her major in elementary education. She was a 2014 graduate of Riverton-Parke High School. She was active with many activities including, soccer and basketball with the Parke County Youth League, Riverton-Parke Softball, volleyball and choir from grades 7 to 12. She was a member of Alpha Phi Sorority at ISU. She enjoyed traveling, music and spending time with her friends.
