Erhard Wolf, of Fort Collins, CO, passed away Aug. 17, 2008 at his home surrounded by family.
Maximilian Rudolf Erhard Wolf was born in Rodewich, Germany in 1920 and grew up in Louisville, KY. His parents were
Rudolf and
Gertrude Wolf. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Erhard and Nell raised their family in the Chicago area where he was a professional retoucher for national rotogravure color magazines and catalogs. Besides having a great sense of humor, he was a man of many talents and accomplishments. His passions were music and golf. He shot his age in golf many times. He was an operatic baritone who sang recitals and light opera. As a boy growing up in Louisville, KY, he won the state sharpshooters championship and defeated Pee Wee Reese in the Louisville marble championship. His family dearly loved him and he will be in our hearts forever. Erhard is survived by Nell, his wife of over 66 years; his four children, Sue Hall (Jim) of Fort Collins, Pat Kroutel (Ron) of Athens, OH, Greg Wolf (Linda) of Chicago and Chris Applegate (Mike) of Fort Collins; 10 grandchildren, Doug Hall, Scott Hall, Mike Hall, Joni Hall, Phil Perkins, Todd
Perkins, Ryan Wolf, Jamie Luther,
Samantha Applegate and Paige Applegate; 13 great-grandchildren. Private family services were held. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to Chicagoland Lutheran Educational Foundation for a music scholarship in Erhard's name, Mount Pisgah Church in Bremen, KY or Hospice of Larimer County c/o Allnutt Funeral Service, 650 W.
