My mind again turned to Eric this week. I talked with a friend who had worked with him. We shared stories and they always reflected his integrity, his intellect, his wonderful sense of humor, and his calm professionalism. He was a kind man and he is missed.

I am honoured to have known Eric and his sister Nancy for a brief period back in time at Kingston Collegiate. Sad to have heard this news even though so many years have passed and had no idea he was even in the same city as I. My condolences to his family.

Eric was a dear friend I met during our year abroad at the University of Glasgow, Scotland. We had one class together, Comparative Communist states'- 3 years before the Berlin Wall came down. Webster' was his nickname from Canada due to his extensive vocabulary. We travelled together throughout Europe Inter-railing'. Too many good times to remember. A loving soul, and a dear friend even if I haven't seen him in years. I am so sorry for his family's loss.

I am very sad for Eric and for his beloved family. He was a fun and positive force. I remember when I was on my own with little ones, how he and Lisa encouraged me to come out on some fun outings and filled them with adventure and cheer.

I am incredibly saddened to hear about Eric's passing. He was a wonderful man. We met at Queen's and I have fond memories of our time there. We kept touch afterward, though now I regret it was not as frequent as it should have been. He once helped my wife and me in a very difficult time, without any reservations, and we will always be grateful. I send my deepest sympathies to his family.
