Eric Timothy Hockman

Eric Timothy Hockman, 37, of Strasburg, passed away Saturday, January 19, 2019 at his home.

A funeral service for Eric will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, January 25, 2019 at the Stover Memorial Chapel in Strasburg with the Rev. Patrick Freund officiating with interment following in St. Stephens Cemetery, Strasburg.

Eric was born June 18, 1981 in Winchester, VA, the son of Karen Elbon Hockman Funkhouser of Mt. Jackson and the late Richard Allen "Chuck" Hockman.

He was a member of St. Stephens Lutheran Church, the Strasburg Moose Lodge No. 403, and was employed by Southern States Co-op, Winchester, VA.

Eric was preceded in death by his grandmother, Sue Hockman Laing.

Surviving, with his mother, are his wife, Patience Anne Maki; his daughter, Ivy Adeline Hockman; his step-daughter, Lillian Marcella Ball, all of the home; his step-father, Larry Funkhouser of Mt. Jackson; his sister, Kathryn Renee Williams and husband Michael of Strasburg; his grandparents, Raymond L. and Cecelia Artz Elbon of Toms Brook; his step-father-in-law, Charles W. Wright of Front Royal; his brothers-in-law, Robert L. Maki of Stephens City and Loren A Maki of Front Royal, VA; along with his godson, Grant Pearson.

Pallbearers will be Billy Hockman, Alan Fleet, Keith Henry, Daryl Shaffer, Robbie Parks, Joey Hockman, Grant Pearson and Nathan Jenkins.

The family will receive friends at Stover Funeral Home, 177 N. Holliday St., Strasburg, VA Thursday from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.
