Eric Gustav
Eric Gustav Hoeflinger, age 53, passed away peacefully on Monday October 27, 2014, with family at his bedside. Eric was born on April 25, 1961, in Toledo, OH. He grew up in Sylvania and graduated from Sylvania Southview HS in 1979. A vibrant man about town, Eric always lived life to the fullest. Eric was attending the University of Toledo, when he was involved in a horrific auto accident (August 1983), which changed his life forever. Eric was in a coma for a year, but persevered. Things that gave him pleasure were boating, playing acey deucey for money, and tennis in his youth. Most recently, October 12, Eric and his brothers boarded the 1950 Chris Craft, destination Put-in-Bay; Eric enjoyed it immensely! Throughout the years, many of Eric's friends kept in contact with him, and were available for a phone call to stay in touch. Eric spent the last twelve years of his life at Darlington Nursing Home, where he received quality care. Along the way, he had good times with family and friends and is now at peace.
Eric is survived by his brothers, Theodore J. (Robin), Dr. Brian F. (Cynthia), Wesley George Hoeflinger, and his sister, Inga G. (Michael) Block; nieces and nephews, Kevin, Julie, Katherine, Christie, and Erik. He was preceded in death by parents, Theodore E. and Ingrid L. Hoeflinger; nephew, Brian N. Hoeflinger; grandparents, Joseph and Tillie Losik, Theodore G. and Gertrude A. Hoeflinger.
Our family wishes to thank Darlington Nursing Home, especially his devoted caregiver, Theresa, and also Hospice North West Ohio.
Visitation at Hoeflinger-Bolander Funeral Home, 3500 Navarre Avenue, Oregon, OH will be from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Thursday and Friday. Funeral services will begin with prayers at the funeral home at 9:15 a.m., followed by a 10:00 a.m. Mass at Sacred Heart Church on Saturday, November 1, 2014. Interment will take place at Calvary Cemetery.

Too the entire Hoeflinger with my deepest sympathy, I took care of Eric @ Darlington n 1993 along time ago I will remember his bigsmile and how well he flirt with the ladies, but hey he was a very good looking guy. Sorry about this put my prayer's go out you. With All My Blessing Josephine Gartee

Too many years of suffering... I will always remember the good times we had up at Catawba! Now you are finally at peace and with Brian... My sympathies to the entire Hoeflinger family.
