Eric D. Johnson, 54, of Worcester, MA, passed away unexpectedly on February 19, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of courage and kindness. A simple man with a big heart, Eric lived life on his own terms, balancing a rebellious and adventurous spirit with the quiet strength that defined his later years. Born and raised in Worcester Eric became a local legend when, as a young man, he bravely rescued a family from a burning home. His heroic act earned him the Key to the City, a testament to his courage and willingness to risk everything for others. Standing tall as a gentle giant, Eric's kindness and dry humor endeared him to all who knew him.

Eric found joy in life's simple pleasures. He adored dogs, their loyalty mirroring his own, and spent countless hours tinkering with antique cars alongside his deceased father David F. Johnson. For a brief time, he lived in Florida before returning to his Worcester roots. His sudden passing leaves a void in the hearts of his family and friends. Eric is survived by loved ones who will forever cherish his humor and warmth.

A private memorial will be held later. In his honor, donations are suggested to the Worcester Humane Society.
