Eric Lee Patton

Staff Sergeant Eric Lee Patton, 34, passed away unexpectedly at his home in Conroe, Texas on April 10, 2019. A combat veteran of both the Iraq War (3 tours) and Afghanistan War (3 tours) in serving with the 4th Infantry Division, 101st Airborne Air Assault (Screaming Eagles), 82nd Airborne Division (All American). He was with an Infantry and paratrooper soldier earning several awards and medals including the Combat Infantry Badge and the Bronze Star.

SSG Eric Patton was born on February 27, 1985 in Wichita Falls, Texas. He graduated from The Colony High School in 2003. SSG Patton enlisted in the United States Army due to a strong desire to serve his country. SSG Patton was a brave and loyal soldier who loved the U.S. Army and his fellow brothers in arms. He told his mother that he believed in the motto "Leave No Man Behind".

SSG Patton was selected for United States Army Green Beret but was unable to complete this training due to the untimely death of his father Clarence Calvin Patton. SSG Patton chose not to re-enlist and was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army to care for his mother.

SSG Eric Patton was an exceptional student at Sam Houston State University majoring in Accounting and a minor in Computer Programming. He was expected to graduate in May, 2020.

Eric was an avid motorcyclist and was a member of the Bikelifemafia motorcycle group. He was also a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) and 82nd Airborne Division Association. He lived every day to the fullest, cared deeply for his family and friends. He was a man of his word and the void he has left will never be filled.

SSG Eric Patton is survived by his mother Maria L. Patton-White and stepfather Michael S. White of Houston, Texas. He is preceded in death by his father Clarence Calvin Patton of Wichita Falls, Texas and grandfather, Harold D. Bailey of Elmira, New York.

A viewing will take place at Brookside Funeral Home on April 22, 2019 between 5:00 p.m and 9:00 p.m. with the rosary at 7:00 p.m. The Funeral service will be held at Prince of Prince on April 23, 2019 officiated by Father Biju Matthew at 10:30 a.m. SSG Patton will be laid to rest at Houston National Cemetery with military honors following the service. There will be a celebration of SSG Patton's life his mother's home immediately after the burial. Funeral arrangements are provided by Brookside Funeral Home, Cypress Creek, Houston, Texas.
