Ernesto Parreno Casa

Ernie Casa, 80, of Vallejo, California, passed away on January 29, 2024 while vacationing in Iloilo City, Philippines. Born in Mambiranan Grande, Passi, Iloilo, Philippines, on March 17, 1943, Ernie was known for his love of singing karaoke, attending Filipino gala events, and gardening.

Ernie had a successful career as an electrician, working with the Subic Naval Repair Facility, Arabian American Oil Company in Saudi Arabia, and lastly, Pacific Gas & Electric Company in California where he worked for 25 years until he retired.

He is survived by his eldest daughter, Marie Estela, and her husband Jeff Hubbell; sons Eugene and his wife Meg, Edmund and his wife Tinna, and Ernesto Jr.; sisters Angelita Panaligan and Florita Albacete; grandchildren Nathan, Joshua, Jacqueline, Eunice, Eloise, Kaleb, and Jewel; as well as nieces and nephews.

Ernie was preceded in death by his wife of 40 years, Ellen Rosita, and daughter Emerald Ellen.

A ceremony for Ernie will be held at All Souls Cemetery in Vallejo, California, where he will be inurned along with his wife, Ellen. All Souls Catholic Cemetery in Vallejo, California, is assisting with the inurnment arrangements.

Ernie will be remembered for his dedication to his work as an electrician, his joy of giving to the needy in the Philippines and his passion for gardening and his love of singing karaoke.
