Esther Torno

Esther Torno passed away at the age of 77 on Tuesday, March 11, 2008 at Lufkin Memorial Medical Center. Funeral services were held in her honor Saturday, March 15, 2008 at 2:00 P.M. in the Ritchea-Gonzales Funeral Home with Gary Torno officiating. Interment followed in the San Patricio Memorial Gardens in Portland, Texas. Esther Torno was born November 5, 1930 in Sinton, Texas. She married Oscar Vernon Torno in Sinton on May 9, 1947. Esther has lived in Onalaska, Texas since 1985. Esther is survived by her devoted husband Oscar of almost 61 years. Together they had four daughters; Ruth Walker of Onalaska, Texas, Carol and husband Don Browning of Brownwood, Texas, Shirley Hufford of Early, Texas, and Candy Torno of Ace, Texas, Esther is also survived by her 11 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren, and her brother Ernest Marion and sister Barbara Knox both of Sinton, Texas. She is preceded in death by her parents Robert and Minnie Cox Marion, sister Ruth, brothers Joe David, William, Orville, and Bobby, son in law Boyd E. Walker and a grandson Emery Wayne Walker.
