Eugene F. Billard

Eugene F. Billard, 88 of Honesdale, died on Monday, November 12, 2012 at his home. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, the former Kathryn Ann Theobald. The couple married on November 26, 1952.

Born on November 3, 1924 at the family homestead in Honesdale, he was the son of the late Joseph and Florence Maloney Billard. He attended Berlin Valley School and was a graduate of Honesdale High School, class of 1942. Eugene owned and operated a successful family dairy farm on Brook Road. He had also worked for GLF, Berlin Township, and Gordon Kinzinger Auction. He was also a Wayne County Farmers Association Director.

Eugene enjoyed snowmobiling, bowling, dancing and his grandchildren. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and will be missed greatly.Also surviving are his sons James and wife Linda and Thomas and wife Shawn all of Honesdale; daughters Susan Wilmont of Delaware Water Gap, Nancy Ellis and Bill Joseph Sr. and JoAnn Bates and husband Kenneth all of Honesdale; grandchildren Shawn Wilmont, Stephanie Stahl, Michael, Sarah and Christopher Ellis, Billie Joseph Jr., Troy Billard, Jonathon and Kathryn Bates, Jacquelyn, Nicole and Allison Billard; great grandchildren Kevin and Jacqlyn Gager, Tyler Jackson, Bryan and Kyleigh Ellis.

He was preceded in death by a brother Robert Billard and a sister Letitia Schmidt.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, November 17th at 10 am at St. John the Evangelist Church in Honesdale. Everyone attending the Mass are asked to meet at the church.

Interment will follow in St. John's Cemetery. Friends may visit Hessling Funeral Home, Inc., 428 Main St. Honesdale on Friday from 3 to 6.
