Eugene G. Fischer, son of Magdalena (Fischer) and George Fischer, was born April 6, 1919, on their farm west of Artas. He married Rose Lutz July 11, 1943, at the Baptist Church in Artas. Eugene was converted Sept. 21, 1943. The first eight years of marriage, they farmed in the Artas area. They then moved to a farm three miles west and four miles south of Eureka. Since September 2005, He had lived at the Golden Living Center in Ipswich. Eugene's church and farming were very important to him, however his greatest pride in life was his family.
