Eugene SADOWAY Obituary
April 22, 1922 - April 26, 2018
It is with sadness that the family announces the passing of Eugene at the age of 96.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 70 years, Doreen (Fedorak) Sadoway; children Charlotte (Neil) McKellar, Wesley (Pat) Sadoway and Cynthia (Paul) Dusseault; grandchildren Chris (Tracy) Ryan, Shane (Kelly) Sadoway, Cody Ryan, Carmen (Colin) Sadoway, Angelique Dusseault, Marisa Dusseault, Mark (Michelle) McKellar and Melissa Berridge; great-grandchildren Bryden, Aubree and Sara Sadoway, Cole and Kayla Berridge, and Montana McKellar; and sister Sanny (Steve) Viteychuk.
Eugene was predeceased by his parents Peter Sadoway and Mary (Andruchow) Sadoway, son Randy and daughter Claudia (Peter) Parker, siblings Zenon (Olga) Sadoway, Mary (John) Iwasiw, Nestor (Helen) Sadoway, Lydia (Chuck) Tennant, Helen (Myron) Spacinsky, Peter (Lil) Sadoway, Nellie (Nick) Shymko and Delores (Jim) Rodgers.
Eugene was a World War II veteran and a schoolteacher. He loved nature and always watched for the birds to return in the spring. He adored fishing, and hopefully there are lots of fish in the place he has gone to. Most of all, he loved his wife and his family and was the best father/grandfather/great-grandfather a person could possibly want. Always the ultimate gentlemen, even when he wasn't well, he woke up every morning and made himself presentable for the day and for visitors. He kept his sense of humour right to the end, joking with his family in the hospital. Oh, he will be missed!
A celebration of Eugene's life will be held on Sunday, May 6, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Westlawn Funeral Home, 16310 Stony Plain Road, Edmonton.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Arthritis Society or to the charity of your choice.

We just learned of Eugene's passing now, and are deeply saddened. Our most sincere condolences to Doreen, Charlotte, Wesley, & Cynthia and extended family. The fond memories of visiting with the Sadoways in Hairy Hill,and the warmth felt within their household, will always be dear to our hearts. Indeed, Eugene was a gentleman, a wise teacher, and a very kind man, with a great sense of humour. He will be missed. We send our heartfelt sympathies to Doreen & all the family. May God Bless You.

I just came across this today. My heartfelt condolences go out to the Sadoway family. I haven't seen Eugene for over 30 years now but my memories were of a quiet and dignified man who loved his family dearly.

It was an honour to know this wonderful man. He always made me laugh and he had such a quiet dignified quality about him.
